Foreign Minister of China Paid Courtesy Call on President Elbegdorj

Today President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj received Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi. President Elbegdorj noted that in recent years the bilateral relations between Mongolia and China have reached a high level of friendly partnership in all sectors and said: “It is important for Mongolia that China is pursuing a more open and comprehensive policy to the neighboring countries”.

In the scope of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and China, the year of 2014 was declared as the “Year of Mongolia-China Friendly Exchanges” and a broad range of events were launched. It is expected to enhance mutual friendly relations by promoting travel between the two countries.

Foreign Minister Mr. Wang Yi expressed that he is very grateful to meet with President Elbegdorj and conveyed President of China Xi Jinping’s sincere greetings to President of Mongolia. In his greetings, President Xi Jinping mentioned that he held a meeting with President Elbegdorj exchanging views on issues of bilateral relations during the Fourth Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia took place in Shanghai last May and expressed hope to see President Elbegdorj again soon.
