During its regular session, cabinet members decided to present the 2013 scientific award to engineer Natsagnyam. He has worked to create opportunities for Mongolia to become energy independent, to the benefit of national security and sustainability. The Mongolian Government evaluates the nation's best scientific endeavors and supports these projects being integrated into domestic production. This year's scientific award is being given to Natsagnyam, who has opened the door to saving billions of tugriks in the energy sector.

Ts.Munkhtur, Chief of Public Relations and Communication at the Government Office, “The new government for changes presented its first award in the scientific sector to reactor physician and academic Namsrai, along with 100 thousand tugrik. Now, this year, the cabinet has decided to present this award to a scientist in the technological sector, to recognize the work of Natsagnyam”.

The work of Natsagnyam presents the chance to create innovations in imports that cost billions of dollars in the domestic market, to change the system of some imports with high tariffs, and makes significant contributions to the creation of a “producer or exporter” economic system. Cabinet members also decided to increase the premiums given to wool producers. Last year, 29.4 billion tugrik was given to herders who delivered wool to domestic manufacturers.

Ts.Munkhtur, Chief of Public Relations and Communication at the Government Office, “Two thousand tugrik is given in premium when herders deliver one kilogram of wool. For this year’s wool premium, 25 billion tugrik was allocated, but due to the rising number of livestock, the premium is expected to rise to 35 billion tugrik. I think it is right, given how beneficial it is to provide premiums to herders for their wool. Raw materials for domestic production continue to be available without any shortages, which provides secure operations for manufacturers. Also, improvements have been made among the workers in the delivery and storage of wool. In the past, wool sometimes lost its value, but this situation has changed”.

Also, members have decided to revoke the permits of several companies producing alcoholic beverages. The permits of Altan Urgoo, Tsaramt-Uul, Sant Jargalant, Moriton Mongol and Moriton Mongol Hurd have been canceled.
