Minister L.Bold hold bilateral meetings

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, L.Bold has held bilateral meetings with ministers from over 20 countries participating in the 69th session of UN General Assembly.

Chile to support Mongolia’s application for APEC

Minister L.Bold had bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Chile and Peru. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile Heraldo Muñoz officially stated that Chile will support Mongolia’s application for joining APEC. The sides highlighted that the two countries having rich natural resources, mining-based economy and possessing leading position in the world by the copper production, have great possibilities for the cooperation.

Minister L.Bold congratulated Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru Gonzalo Gutiérrez on his appointment as the Foreign Minister who had worked as non-resident Ambassador of Peru to Mongolia and expressed a confidence that bilateral relations will witness a great progress in the near future.

President of Mongolia invited to Turkmenistan

Minister L.Bold held bilateral meetings with Foreign Ministers of Portugal and Turkmenistan to discuss issues on the development of bilateral relations and the cooperation within international organizations. Foreign minister of Turkmenistan R.Meredov confirmed that President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow has invited President of Mongolia Tsakhia Elbegdorj to pay an official visit to Turkmenistan with a view to revive and develop the Mongolia-Turkmenistan traditional friendly relations and cooperation under new conditions. Views were also shared on the preparations for the top level visit and realization of agreements reached on the implementation of joint projects and programs in the economic, energy and transport sectors during SCO summit in Dushanbe.

Minister L.Bold re-affirmed that Minister R.Meredov is invited to Mongolia.

Diplomatic relations established with Saint Lucia

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, L.Bold and Minister for External Affairs, International Trade and Civil Aviation of Saint Lucia, Alva Romanus Baptiste signed a joint statement on establishment of diplomatic relations in New York.

Minister L.Bold held bilateral meetings with Foreign Ministers of Botswana, the Marshall Islands, the Bahamas, Cameroon and Nigeria to talk about issues concerning the establishment of diplomatic relations, the cooperation within bilateral and international organizations as well as on possibilities for supporting Mongolia’s candidature in UN Human Rights Council elections in 2015.

Minister L.Bold had bilateral meetings with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia S.Lavrov and Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Thailand and Singapore.

At a meeting with United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund CEO Sergio Arvizu Trevino, views were shared on investment opportunities.
