Mongolia at ASEM Senior Officials meeting

Director of the Department of Policy Planning and Research, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Mr. Ts.Batbayar represented Mongolia, one of four coordinators, at ASEM Senior Officials' Meeting convened in Brussels on April 28 to 30.

Mongolia highlighted an importance of an Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation signed between Mongolia and EU in April 2013 and expressed its interest in implementation of projects in the areas of renewable energy, agriculture, water management, and small and med-sized enterprises, in cooperation with the European partners within ASEM cooperation framework in 2015 and 2016.

Besides, Mr. Ts.Batbayar made a focus on the Forum of Northeast Asian women parliamentarians hosted in the light of Mongolian President’s initiative Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security and a meeting of Northeast Asian scholars and experts to congregate in June.

During the event, Mr. Ts.Batbayar had a meeting with the leaders of the Asia Department of the European External Action Service. The sides touched upon issues concerning the development of Mongolia-EU relations and cooperation within the bilateral agreement on partnership and cooperation and multilateral and regional issues of mutual concern.
