The Government of Canada has officially informed of including Mongolia in a special list of official development assistance recipients. 25 countries placed in the list which is updated every five years will receive some 90 percent of the total ODA to be provided by the Government of Canada in coming 5 years.
Thereby the Government of Canada strives for providing consistent support to strengthening democracy in Mongolia. Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper played a crucial role in taking this decision, Ambassador of Canada to Mongolia Greg Goldhawk noted at a meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia L.Bold.
Since 1997, Mongolia has received USD 5.1 million assistance within the framework of ODA of the Government of Canada.
