Mongolia is to participate in Antarctic researches. A hydrologist engineer Kh.Purevdagva from the Mongolian Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology is to head to Antarctica to participate in the 23rd Bulgarian Antarctica expedition. He will be working with the expedition group at Bulgarian Kliment Ohridski Base on Livingston Island to study the continent’s regime of snow, water and climate and will deliver Mongolia’s contribution to the climate-change global researches. Mongolia is working to join the Antarctic Treaty and thus aims to share the human universal property and catch up with future competitiveness. Mongolia first sent its experts to Antarctica in 1972-1974 and since it has been participating in researches for global climate changes and weather forecasts.
