Mongolia's International Security and Nucler-weapon-free status resolation adopted

Initiated by Mongolia draft resolution on Mongolia’s international security and nuclear- weapon-free status was adopted without vote by the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly on October 31, 2014.

The resolution welcomes efforts Mongolia had taken towards the promotion its nuclear-free status and calls for cooperating with and providing support to Mongolia in strengthening and ensuring its independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, independent foreign policy, economic security, ecological balance and nuclear-free status.

The resolution also welcomes that five nuclear powers along with Mongolia have signed Declaration on Mongolia’s Nuclear-Free Status.
