Mongolia to build a hydro power plant

Mongolia is to build a hydro power plant in western region. A feasibility study of planned hydro power plant will start soon in western Khovd province and a contractor to build a plant will be selected within the second quarter of 2016.

Once built, the power plant is to provide stable energy to Mongolia’s Western region and reduce energy dependency on imports. Moreover, it will fully meet the power consumption demands of the western region, which is 127.1 million KWT/h.
