Mongolian calligraphies were featured at the "Brush and ink" exhibition in Australia

The “Brush and ink: Contemporary Asian calligraphy” exhibition, which is the part of the Oz Asia Festival, was launched on 6 September 2014 at the Art Gallery of South Australia in Adelaide. The calligraphy artworks from Mongolia, Japan and China are being displayed.

The “Brush and ink: Contemporary Asian calligraphy” exhibition, which is the part of the Oz Asia Festival, was launched on 6 September 2014 at the Art Gallery of South Australia in Adelaide. The calligraphy artworks from Mongolia, Japan and China are being displayed.

During the opening of the exhibition, a Mongolian calligraphy workshop was conducted by Ms. B.Odontuya, Melbourne based Mongolian calligraphy artist. In her workshop, Ms B. Odontuya demonstrated a technique of Mongolian calligraphy and explained the Mongolian traditional script.

Also, the artworks of Mongolian calligraphy artists such as D.Battumur, D.Ganbaatar, B.Odontuya and L.Tuvshinjargal are presented at the exhibition, which will be set until March 2015. Approximately 150 people have attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

This display was organized with the collaboration of the “976” art gallery of Mongolia, the Confucius Institute of the University of Adelaide and the Embassy of Mongolia.
