President Elbegdorj Meets the United Nations Under-Secretary-General Jeffrey Feltman

On July 28, 2015, President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj welcomed the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Mr. Jeffrey Feltman who is visiting Mongolia to attend the events dedicated to the 25 year anniversary of the first democratic, free election in Mongolia.

President Elbegdorj appreciated the United Nations for sending the delegations to attend the International Commemorative Conference and other events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the first democratic election in Mongolia. He noted that the first democratic election was a historical event in changing the political system based on democratic principles and in adopting the new, democratic Constitution in the country. The democratic reform ensured people the rights, particularly the online freedom in the past 20 years. Mongolia successfully underwent its dual transition to democracy and market economy and as a result of livestock privatization in Mongolia, the number of livestock increased from 25 million to 70 million.
