President Meets With Mongolians

Today /2015.01.21/ President Elbegdorj met with Mongolians who live and study in the Czech Republic. In 2014, exactly 5311 Mongolians lived in the Czech Republic. According to the statistics, as of 2008 over 13000 Mongolians, by 2010 nearly 5000 and in 2012 there were 4500 Mongolians lived in Czech. In 2014-2015, a total of five Mongolian students are studying in the Czech Republic through its Government Scholarship and this year another three students will be added. Since 1955, over 300 Mongolians earned higher education and nearly 30 Mongolians earned academic degree in Czech.

President Elbegdorj shared a great news that Mongolia to welcome soon the 3-millionth citizen and underlined that a working group was appointed to implement an agreement on the partnership in social welfare between the governments of Mongolia and the Czech Republic. This agreement will further contribute to address social welfare issues of the Mongolians living abroad.

Also, it was mentioned that there is a need to return nearly 20 Mongolians who illegally reside in Czech. Population’s Development and Social Welfare Minister S.Erdene informed about the works and policies implemented by his Ministry. After posing for photo, President Elbegdorj listened to the opinions and proposals of Mongolians.
