Public transportation service in Ulaanbaatar to improve

Public transportation service in UB city is to improve. The Government of Mongolia in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank will implement the Urban Transport Development Investment Program to improve UB city’s public transportation services. The program will introduce international Bus Rapid Transit systems to Mongolia and construct new lanes for buses to improve urban transport, as well as develop a sustainable and efficient urban transportation system. The program will be implemented for 7-10 years in three phases. The program will help improve the management of urban public transportation services of Mongolia and increase revenue from tickets up to 30 percent. In Addition, the air pollution in Ulaanbaatar city will be reduced and the cost of excessive fuel use during traffic congestion will be decreased by 14 percent.
