The inaugural Trilateral Meeting between Mongolia, the United States and Japan was successfully held on September 29 in New York. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia L. Purevsuren, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs D. Russel and Director General for the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan J. Ihara led their delegation to the Trilateral Meeting.

The first Mongolia-U.S.-Japan Trilateral Meeting laid the foundation for an important dialogue mechanism with our Third neighbors – the U.S and Japan - to exchange views on a broad range of regional and global security and economic issues, and on how to coordinate actions at the regional and global levels that reflect shared interest.
