Wind power plant to be built in southern Mongolia

Wind power plant to be built in southern Mongolia. Clean Energy Asia LLC, a unit of Mongolian investment group Newcom, is to build 50MW wind power plant in South Gobi province near the Chinese border. The main investors of the project are Japan’s Softbank and JICA. US$ 100 million are estimated as the value of the investment.

The wind power plant will supply energy to the central region’s power grid and China, Japan, and South Korea. The feasibility study on site was conducted and the commercial agreement was inked with the Government of Mongolia. The wind power station will cover some 230 thousand hectares.
