The committee of energy management investigated six apartment management offices. During the investigation, they found that the offices were charging residents inflated energy fees.

Mr.Chuluunbaatar, the citizen's representative of the Committee of Energy Management spoke to our reporters about the investigation. One office was discovered to be producing fake documents and adding 617,466 tugrik to the original fee of 114 thousand tugrik.

The management offices are the only places where household heat supply's are calculated.

Today, residents pay their heating bills through billing systems organized by banks. But if consumers look carefully at their fees, they will find many faults, says the Association for the Protection of Consumer’s Rights.

Moreover, when the Committee of Energy Management conducted an investigation of the Ulaanbaatar Heat Network LLC, other errors were also found.

The committee warns residents to be more aware of their use of heat and if they find billing errors, they should be reported to the committee.
