Pursuant to UN General Assembly Resolution, Buddha or Vesakha Day was marked at the UN Headquarters in May. The celebration event was addressed by Permanent Representative of Mongolia to UN O.Och who highlighted an importance of Buddha Day for Buddhists. Mongolians believes that every good deed done this day multiples, he said and added that Buddhist teachings preaching the respect for others and ethics would make a great contribution to the sustainable development of the society.
During the event, footage on how Buddha Day is celebrated in Mongolia was shown to the audience.
