Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States to Mongolia Mr. Jose Luis Bernal, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to Mongolia Mr. Paul Steinmetz, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Malta to Mongolia Mr. Clifford Borg-Marks and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Mongolia Ms. Kanaiym Baktygulova presented their Letters of Credence to President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj.

Following the ceremony President Elbegdorj held meetings with Ambassadors.

President Elbegdorj congratulated Ambassador of Mexico Jose Luis Bernal on his presentation of credentials and wished success in his diplomatic mission. Ambassador underlined an importance of regular exchanges of high-level visits and maintaining frequent dialogue in further strengthening the ties and identifying the areas of cooperation between the two countries. President Elbegdorj noted that Office of the President of Mongolia and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia are committed supporting the Embassy of Mexico.

President Elbegdorj congratulated Ambassador of Luxembourg Paul Steinmetz on his presentation of letters credentials and expressed hope that the Ambassador would make a significant contribution to expanding bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. President emphasized that the two countries maintained friendly relations in economic, banking, financial and health sectors and noted that foreign ministers of Luxembourg and Mongolia have agreed to negotiate a tax treaty on the avoidance on double taxation.

President Elbegdorj congratulated Ambassador Clifford Borg-Marks upon his appointment as the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Malta to Mongolia. A lawyer by profession, Ambassador Clifford Borg-Marks noted that he visited Mongolia in 1980 when he was a student. At the meeting the parties discussed issues related to enhancing mutual relations and cooperation of the two countries. Ambassador mentioned that Malta is classified as an advanced economy and has favorable tax system.

Afterwards, Ambassador Ms. Kanaiym Baktygulova conveyed President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev’s sincere greetings to President Elbegdorj. Ambassador noted that President A.Atambayev pays every attention to enhance bilateral relations with Mongolia. Ambassador said that Mongolian Honorary Consulate opened in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and noted that Kyrgyzstan will offer every support to the Consulate. She also said that Kyrgyzstan is learning Mongolia’s experience of democratic transition, electoral system and state registration for citizens.
