Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi is paying an official visit to Mongolia on June 24 to 26 upon the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia L.Bold. The reply visit to that of the Foreign Minister of Mongolia to China in January 2014 is an important event in the Mongolia-China relations scheduled for 2014, the year of celebration of the 65th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

During the visit Minister Wang Yi paid courtesy calls on President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj, Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag and Deputy Prime Minister D.Terbishdagva to share views on issues of bilateral relations and cooperation.

At official talks the Foreign Ministers shared information and views on bilateral collaboration in the political, economic and humanitarian and in the fields of culture and education, cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries as well as some international and regional issues of mutual concern. The sides reached an agreement on visits and activities to be hosted this year.

Minister L.Bold expressed satisfaction that the sides touched upon issues related to the joint celebration of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and China this year, the stimulation of the implementation course of the largest bilateral trade and economic cooperation projects, and the promotion of bilateral ties in the humanitarian, culture, education and science areas and came to terms with a number of cooperation issues. Mongolia and China declared the of year of 2014 as the Year of Mongolia-China Friendly Exchanges and launched a broad range of events in this light, Minister L.Bold noted and expressed a confidence that these would be resulted in strengthening friendly ties and mutual understanding between the two nations.

Bilateral relations and cooperation have been witnessing an increasing development in recent years. The two countries cooperate effectively within international and regional cooperation mechanisms. All these create favorable conditions for deepening the Mongolia-China strategic partnership relations and cooperation and encouraging people-to-people contacts.

The Mongolia-China relations are experiencing the most favorable in its history period. Having no controversial issue, the two countries have full determination to work together for peace and security in the region and the world as whole, Minister L.Bold emphasized in his statement.

The sides see the main pillar of bilateral strategic partnership relations in trade and economic cooperation.  Private sectors of both countries cooperate in the mining, construction, road and transport, agriculture and financial spheres.

The present visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi has a particular significance for strengthening mutual understanding, forwarding certain cooperation issues, and deepening collaboration between the foreign ministries and at international and regional levels.
