Today /2014.07.08/ President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Mongolia Gregory Goldhawk on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in Mongolia.

President Elbegdorj thanked for his contribution in developing the bilateral relations between the two countries. President expressed gratitude to Ambassador Gregory Goldhawk for his effort and Government of Canada for choosing Mongolia as one of the Countries of Focus of Canada’s international development assistance program. President underlined that the two countries exchanged a number of high-level visits last year. For instance, the Speaker of the State Great Hural of Mongolia Z.Enkhbold paid an official visit to Canada and the Governor General of Canada David Johnston paid state visit to Mongolia.

President Elbegdorj said that Mongolia is aiming to accelerate the economic growth and attract more foreign investment and said: “It is our mutual interest, I believe, to continue collaborating in the area of investment in areas such as rural development, infrastructure and education”. President noted that the Mongolian Parliament has recently passed Minerals Law and Petroleum Law.

Ambassador Gregory Goldhawk emphasized that Mongolia is a country that prioritizes democracy, human rights and good governance and said that during his mission, Mongolian economy experienced rapid growth.

President Elbegdorj emphasized that the mutual economic cooperation, particularly private sector collaboration is one of the backbones in our relations and wished success in his future endeavours.
