On July 10, 2014, President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj received Minister for Defense Affairs of the State of Qatar Hamad Bin Ali Al-Attiyah. Minister for Defense Affairs Hamad bin Ali Al-Attiyah conveyed the greetings from the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to President Elbegdorj and extended congratulations on the occasion of the National Naadam Festival of Mongolia.

President Elbegdorj appreciated Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for conveying the greetings and extended his sincere greetings to the Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and former Emir of Qatar Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and confirmed an invitation to visit Mongolia at his most convenient time. Honorary guests expressed their satisfaction that they are visiting Mongolia during the National Naadam Festival, the most pleasant time of the year.

President Elbegdorj noted: “I am very grateful that the bilateral defense relations between the two countries are enhancing. Government of Qatar is implementing certain projects and works in road construction and supporting peacekeepers in Mongolia. I think Qatar has properly exploited its mineral resources and became one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Mongolia is interested in learning Qatar’s experience in exploitation of mineral wealth. I was truly impressed and enjoyed the meeting with His Highness, the Emir of Qatar, during my state visit to Qatar. I would like to wish every success in your visit”.

Minister for Defense Affairs, Mr. Hamad bin Ali Al-Attiyah: “I have noticed that Mongolia is experiencing rapid development. I am grateful that our two countries maintain regular exchanges of mutual high-level visits. I would like to emphasize that the officials of the defense sectors of the two countries are set to conduct joint workshop, giving the great impetus to enhancing bilateral relations. There is an opportunity to increase the number of Mongolian students in Qatar”.

Also, Minister for Defense Affairs, Mr. Hamad bin Ali Al-Attiyah mentioned that he visited Mongolia before, and he liked Ger a lot and brought one to his country.
