The first political consultative meeting was held between Foreign Ministries of Mongolia and Austria in Ulaanbaatar on August 4, 2014. The meeting discussed a wide range issues concerning bilateral relations and cooperation, particularly, the strengthening of economic relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Austria, effective use of soft loan provided by Austria, mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports, and collaboration in strengthening of Diplomat Academy at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.

The sides shared views on international and regional issues of mutual concern and emphasized an importance of supporting each other on international fora and holding such meetings regularly.
