On August 8, 2014, by the Decree of President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, Federal Security Service Office in Kyakhta town has been awarded with the Order of Military Merit, in the Republic of Buryatia, Russian Federation. The Order was handed over by Chief of Staff of the Office of the President of Mongolia P.Tsagaan. Mr. Tsagaan, Head of General Authority for Border Protection, Brigadier General Sh.Lkhachinjav and other officials from Mongolia were welcomed by the official representatives from Buryatia.

Among the representatives, Head of the Republic of Buryatia, Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn, Mayor-General and Chief of the Border Guard Service of Russia’s Federal Security Service in Buryatia, I.V.Bondarev, Advisor to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Mongolia I.N.Arjaev, Consul General from Russia to Darkhan in Mongolia A.Ts.Dorjiev, and official representative of the Border Guard Service of Russia’s Federal Security Service in Buryatia to Mongolia Colonel G.V.Solenkov and other officials were present.

In his speech, Mr. Tsagaan noted: “We have gathered to accomplish President’s Decree to award the Security Service Office in Kyakhta town with the Order of Military Merit of Mongolia. I’m truly pleased to hand over the Order of Military Merit before the joint celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory of the Khalkhin Gol river and upcoming visit of Vladimir Putin, President of Russian Federation to Mongolia. Federal Security Service Office in Kyakhta town was awarded with the Order of Military Merit for its successful achievement in border protection and contribution to the development of bilateral collaborations between the two countries”.

Kyakhta is a town of Kyakhtinsky District in the Republic of Buryatia, was awarded with the Order of Sukhbaatar in 1973, for its contribution to the development of a friendly relationship between Mongolia and Russia.
