President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj held tête-à-tête with President of People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping at the State Ceremonial Ger.

At the beginning of the meeting, President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj mentioned His Excellency Xi Jinping’s former visit as a Vice President of China in 2008, thanked for His first state visit as a President and welcomed the People’s Republic of China’s delegation to Mongolia. On the 65th year anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and China, President Xi Jinping’s state visit is of great historical importance that two countries signed to upgrade ties to comprehensive strategic partnership. President Elbegdorj stated, “We must strengthen our good neighbor relations.”

During the tête-à-tête, President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj made several suggestions to President Xi Jinping, highlighting tax-free and unlimited export of goods, especially of agricultural sector. And proposed to cooperate in production and gasification of coal, to reach the number of transporting goods from Asia to Europe through Mongolia to 100 million tons by 2020, to increase the performance of the railway connecting Russia, Mongolia and China, and to support Mongolia in joining APEC.

President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping stated to take these suggestions into consideration. Moreover, President of the People’s Republic of China guaranteed to support Mongolia in becoming a full member of APEK and invited President of Mongolia to participate in APEK’s high level meeting in China upcoming September.

President Xi Jinping mentioned Mongolia’s high agricultural supply and a possibility to manufacture beef and lamb and export to China with value added tax. Also, China expressed their readiness to cooperate in energy sector, to build a coal power plant and to export energy to the neighbor to the south. Because of Mongolia’s rapid growth on infrastructure sector, President Xi Jinping is ready to establish Russia-Mongolia-China transit transport agreement, as well as developing China-Mongolia-Europe transit transport system.

As a result of China’s state visit to Mongolia, two countries’ political partnership reached its peak by signing the comprehensive strategic partnership, President Elbegdorj underlined. While the Presidents of two countries held officials talks, First Lady of Mongolia Khajidsurengiin Bolormaa and First Lady of People’s Republic of China Peng Liyuan held a meeting as well. During the meeting, First Lady of Mongolia welcomed the First Lady Peng Liyuan and wished successful visit in Mongolia. In response, First Lady of China expressed the satisfaction of this state visit to beautiful country of Mongolia.
