Upon the invitation of Speaker of the State Great Khural (Parliament) Z.Enkhbold, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Myanmar Thura Shwe Mann will pay an official visit to Mongolia on April 12-15.

During the visit, Mr. Thura Shwe Mann will hold official negotiation with his Mongolian counterpart Mr. Z.Enkhbold and hold meetings with the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Mr. N.Altankhuyag and other officials.

This is the first ever visit to be paid by Myanmar at the high level. During the upcoming visit, a broad range of issues is expected to discuss, particularly, on stimulation of Mongolia-Myanmar relations and cooperation, establishment of contacts between the Parliaments of the two countries, exchange of experiences in implementing democratic and socio-economic transformations, and cooperation on the international fora.

The visit has a great importance for Mongolia to gain a support of Myanmar which is chairing ASEAN, in forwarding Mongolia’s goal to become an East Asia Summit participating state.
