Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia L.Bold received Director of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Kim Dong-gi.

Minister L.Bold thanked the Korean delegation for coming to Ulaanbaatar to attend the first consultative meeting between the Foreign Ministries of Mongolia and the Republic of Korea on the public diplomacy, the follow-up to his official visit to the Republic of Korea in February 2014 and expressed a confidence that the meeting aiming at the strengthening of bilateral cultural ties and mutual understanding between the two peoples would give high results.

Though the two countries have long traditional friendly ties, people-to-people connections have not reached the expected level. Therefore, this issue draws a particular attention. Minister L.Bold requested to render support to public organizations set up by the Mongolian community in the Republic of Korea in carrying out various events for the promotion of both countries.

Mr. Kim Dong-gi said that the Korean side plans to organize a broad spectrum of programs and cultural events for stimulating of public diplomacy ties between the two countries, deepening mutual understanding between the two peoples and improving their knowledge of the respective countries and requested to provide support.
