
The 2014 capital budget was approved. This year, new management was implemented which included the participation of citizens in the budget allocation process. Over 500 billion tugrik is to be spent on the capital’s infrastructure and development, 40 percent of which will be spent on investments in the education sector.
According to a survey of residents, most requested that the city build more kindergartens. Therefore, the capital administration has decided to spend more money on development in education. In the 2014 capital budget, allocations are being made for 17 complexes for kindergartens and primary schools.
Investments in the city's districts will also be increased to facilitate financial independence. Ulaanbaatar officials say that a certain amount of assets will be spent on improving green areas, internet access, street lights and roads, in accordance with resident’s requests.
A total of 556 billion tugrik was allocated in the capital budget, with around 300 billion tugrik to be spent on construction and 210 billion tugrik dedicated to investment.
