Money is being allocated in province units from the Developing Rural Areas fund. The expenditures will be decided by the residents of each province. Therefore, officials say residents are actively participating in projects improving their living area with money allocated from the fund.

Orkhon soum of Bulgan Province has a population of 3,000. In this soum, 303 million tugrik from the Developing Rural Areas fund and 60 thousand from the Soum Development fund has been allocated for local improvements. Residents have decided to improve the city lights, police department, children’s playground, parks and green development.

The governor of Orkhon soum noted that residents are actively participating in improving their living area. Residents have convened and initiated 23 necessary projects in their soum. Residents emphasize that their soum has  over 200 thousand livestock and agricultural areas covering 436 thousand hectares and are eager to see concrete development in these areas.

In Javkhlant soum of Selenge Province, a total of over 200 million tugrik from the fund will be dedicated to development. Soum residents have decided to improve their infrastructure, but more importantly, centers for the elderly are to be established.
