Today President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Mongolia, Mr. Wang Xiaolong on occasion of the end of his term of diplomatic mission in Mongolia. The President thanked for his contribution in developing the bilateral relations in numerous spheres in his four years term of mission in Mongolia, representing the People’s Republic of China.

President Elbegdorj noted: “During your office term, as the Ambassador, many progresses and achievements were made between the relations of the both countries and two of them were huge. For instance, in 2011, our two countries upgraded the bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership and in August 2014, during the state visit of President Xi Jinping, we also upgraded the bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Our two countries made remarkable achievements in this relatively short period of time. Xi Jinping’s state visit to Mongolia is of historic significance. During the state visit, a number of important agreements and documents of cooperation were signed between the two countries, clarifying their future prospects of the mutual relationship.

Mongolia has two big neighbors, the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China. Mongolia and China relations are not limited to bilateral. Last autumn, the Heads of state of Mongolia, Russia and China successfully held the first trilateral meeting establishing the appropriate mechanism to cooperate and discuss permanently. The next tripartite meeting will be held in Ufa, Russian Federation, in July 2015, during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization / SCO / Summit”.

Ambassador Mr. Wang Xiaolong expressed his appreciation and conveyed President Xi Jinping’s invitation to the President of Mongolia to visit China at his most convenient time. Ambassador also noted that China supports the Mongolian President’s initiative the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security and welcomes the declaration by Mongolia of its nuclear-weapon-free status.
