
Today, nationwide, Mongolians celebrated the birth of Chinggis Khan. Just last year, the parliament approved this day - the first day of the first month of winter according to the Lunisolar Calendar - to mark Chinggis Khan’s Birthday as National Pride Day, and approved it as a national holiday.
Mongolian Pride Day, or the Great Chinggis Khan’s 851st Birthday, ceremony started at 10 a.m. at Chinggis Square, with a state flag raising ceremony. Following this event, a national costume and garment fashion show under the theme of “Ancient Mongolia, Mongolian Empire and Present Mongolia” took place. After this, the Honoring Ceremony of the State’s Nine White Banners took place.
Moreover, D.Sodnom the 14th Prime Minister of Mongolia was awarded the Chinggis Khaan Order of Merit, the highest award of the state.
During the event at the Chinggis Square, many citizens gathered for the ceremony, celebrating national pride.
The official setting of this date by the Mongolian state, celebrating a national day of pride and making it a continuous celebration for generations to come, is meaningful for our country, nation and for our successors.
